J. W. Alexander to George Magruder - Shepherdsville Lots 39-40 - Part 5

On 7 Sep 1880, R. J. Meyler sold this ground to Margaret Givens, and on 13 Apr 1881 Margaret and her husband John sold it to James Rooksby for a bay stallion. Then Rooksby sold it to Victor Bonnieville in trust for his children. Bonnieville was a blacksmith, born in France, who was living in Shelby County in 1880. Then Bonnieville sold it to J. W. Alexander who was living in the house on the lot at the time. Alexander then sold it to George Magruder as shown below.

George Magruder sold it to the Troutman brothers on 17 Dec 1897.


Bullitt County Deed Book 30, Pages 209-210

This indenture made this 2nd day of January 1894 by and between J. W. Alexander and his wife Margaret Alexander of the first part, and George Magruder of the second part.

Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of $500 received, the said parties of the first part have bargained and sold, and do hereby bargain sell and convey with covenant of general warranty to the said George Magruder, his heirs and assigns, the following described real estate lying in Bullitt County, Kentucky, to wit: a house and lot in the town of Shepherdsville on the west side of Main Street bounded thus.

Beginning at the intersection of Main Street and an alley opposite the Hoagland Hotel, formerly the Eagle Hotel, thence with said alley west 200 feet to another [alley], thence with said alley north 40 1/2 feet to the Coffee lot, now owned by J. A. Hoffman, thence with Hoffman's line east 200 feet to Main Street, thence with Main Street south 40 1/2 feet to the point of beginning, being part of lots nos. 39 and 40 of the original plat of the town of Shepherdsville, and the same conveyed to J. W. Alexander by Victor Bonnieville and to Bonnieville by John Givens and to John Givens by R. J. Meyler.

To the said George Magruder to have and to hold forever. Witness the hands of the grantors this 2nd day of January 1894. [signed by grantors]
