The Bullitt County Genealogical Society meets on the third Saturday of the month at 10:00 a.m. in the Bullitt County Fiscal Court Room located in the Bullitt County Courthouse at 300 S Buckman St. Please enter from the rear door of the building next to the old stone jail. All are invited.

The purpose of the Society is to collect, preserve, and publish genealogical material of Bullitt and surrounding counties. The Society is a non-profit organization; contributions are welcome and tax-deductible.

Wilderness Road is published quarterly by the Society and is distributed to all members free of charge. Annual membership is $25.00. Back issues of volumes 1-12 are available online here, and are out of print. Volumes 13 and following are available through the Genealogical Society. Single issues can be purchased at $7.00 each. Life membership in the society is $250.00.

Members are encouraged to submit articles to be printed in the publication and should send them to the Editor, Bullitt County Genealogical Society, PO Box 960, Shepherdsville KY 40165-0960. Please make copies of anything submitted, as no material will be returned. Deadlines: September issue, August 1; December issue, November 1; March issue, February 1; June issue, May 1.

We will accept advertising from other societies free of charge, and from individuals at $2.00 per columnar inch. Other advertisements: $2.50 for 1/8th page, $5.00 for 1/4th page, $10.00 for 1/2 page, and $20.00 for a full page.

Queries are free, published on a first come, first served basis.

We request that all members send their family sheets and a five-generation genealogical chart for a permanent file. You are urged to send your queries, old letters, Bible records, etc., for publication.

The Bullitt County History Museum, a service of the Bullitt County Genealogical Society, is located in the county courthouse at 300 South Buckman Street (Highway 61) in Shepherdsville, Kentucky. The museum, along with its research room, is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Saturday appointments are available by calling 502-921-0161 during our regular weekday hours. Admission is free. The museum, as part of the Bullitt County Genealogical Society, is a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization and is classified as a 509(a)2 public charity.
