1835 Shepherdsville Town Trustees Election

We discovered in Bullitt County Deed Book H, Pages 216-217 the following election results.

The candidates are listed below. The capital letter preceding each name is used to identify him in the voting chart below.

A. S. S. Alexander
B. R. F. Samuels
C. R. P. Simmons
D. F. Travis
E. W. R. Grigsby
F. H. J. Craycroft
G. Thomas Joyce

We have attempted to duplicate the chart as it was written in the deed book. It appears that each voter announced his choices, and the election clerk kept a running total as each voter's choices were listed. Note that some initially voted for just 4 candidates, and then later voted for their fifth choice.

Polls of election held at the courthouse in Shepherdsville on the 3rd of August 1835 for five trustees of the said town for one year.
