Original Shepherdsville Lots - Lot 24 (north half)

Immediately after obtaining his deed to the northern half of Shepherdsville lot 24, James Halbert sold it to Jonathan Gore (Jr.) as shown below.

This indenture made this third day of April, and the year of our Lord, 1818 between James Halbert and Margaret, his wife of Bullitt County, and state of Kentucky of the one part, and Jonathan Gore of the same county and state of the other part. Witnesseth that they said Halbert and wife for and in consideration of the sum of $50 current money of said state to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge, have granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, and convey unto the said Jonathan Gore and his heirs forever, one half part of a half acre lot in the town of Shepherdsville known by its number in the new plan of said town 24 and being the most northwardly part thereof.

To have and to hold the most northwardly half part of lot number 24 to the said Jonathan Gore and his heirs to and for his and their only proper use, benefit and behoof forever. And the said James Halbert and Margaret his wife for themselves and their heirs do covenant, promise and agree to and with the said Jonathan Gore that they the said Halbert and wife will and their heirs shall forever warrant and defend to him the said Jonathan Gore and his heirs the before described half part of lot number 24, and the appurtenances and advantages to the same belonging against the claim of all other persons whatever. In witness whereof the said James Halbert and Margaret his wife have set their hands and seals the day and year just above written. (signed) James Halbert, Margaret R. Halbert.
