This indenture made this 22nd day of August 1797 between Adam Shepherd of the one part and Mickal Ryon of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Adam Shepherd, for and in consideration of the sum of twenty five pounds to him in hand paid by the said Mickal Ryon, the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge, hath granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the said Mickal Ryon and his heirs forever one certain lot or parcel of land adjoining the town of Shepherdsville No. eighty nine containing the same quantity of ground as one of the town lots, beginning eighty feet from the north west corner of lot No. 29 at a stake in a line with the east side of the middle or main street of said town, running thence the course of the said street 198 feet 11 inches to a stake, thence North 83 1/2 degrees East 99 feet 5 inches to a stake, thence South six and one hald degrees West 198 feet 11 inches to a stake, thence North 83 1/2 degrees West running parallel with the back line of the town land 99 feet 5 inches to the beginning. To have and to hold the said lot, a parcel of land together with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto him the said Mickal Ryon and his heirs forever to his and their only proper use and behoof. And the said Adam Shepherd for himself and his heirs doth hereby covenant and agree to warrant and defend the right and title of the said lot or parcel of land unto him the said Mickal Ryon and his heirs forever against the claim or claims of all persons whatsoever. In witness whereof the said Adam Shepherd hath hereunto subscribed his name and affixed his seal the day and year aforesaid. (signed) Adam Shepherd
