On 17 Feb 1819, James Halbert sold Shepherdsville lot #9 to John Chaddic. The lot would later arrive in the hands of the Bank of the Commonwealth through court proceedings, and then be sold to Humphrey Simmons, as shown below.

This indenture made the sixth day of September 1838 between the president and directors of the Bank of the Commonwealth of Kentucky of the first part and Humphrey Simmons of the second part.
Witnesseth that the parties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of $290.76 secured to be paid, have granted, bargained and sold unto the party of the second part, a certain lot of ground lying and being in the town of Shepherdsville, Bullitt County, Kentucky and is known on the plan or plat of said town by it's number nine.
To have and to hold the said lot or parcel of ground unto the party of the second part, his heirs and assigns forever. And the parties of the first part the title to the aforesaid lot of ground (acquired by mortgage, decree and subsequent sale by a commissioner from John Chaddic) to the party of the second part, his heirs or assigns against the claim of the party of the first part and all persons claiming by through or under them shall, and will warrant and forever defend, but against the claim or claims of no other person or persons whatsoever. In testimony whereof the party of the first part have hereto affixed their corporate seal, the date above written, done by the undersigned president of the Bank of the Commonwealth aforesaid at the office of said bank in Frankfort.
