Rodolphus Bukey to Henry C. M. Cartmell - Part of Shepherdsville Lot 58

John Collins bought this lot in 1797, and it came into the possession of Harmon Greathouse at Collins' death. Greathouse then sold it to Henry Jones who sold a portion of it to John M. Jones who then sold it to Frederic Travis. Travis would sell the ground to Rodolphus Bukey on 22 Dec 1829. Bukey sold the ground to Henry C. M. Cartmell on 17 Oct 1836, as shown below. Following Cartmell's death, his administrators sold the lot to Thomas Joyce on 15 Mar 1838.

This indenture made this 17th day of October 1836 between Rodolphus Buky and Sarah his wife of Bullitt County, Kentucky of one part and Henry C. M. Cartmell of the same county and state of the other part.

Witnesseth that the said Rodolphus Buky for and in consideration of the sum of $300 to him in hand paid, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, they said Buky and wife have sold and by these presents do sell and convey unto said Henry C. M. Cartmell and to his heirs and assigns forever the following lot of ground in Shepherdsville, Bullitt County, and being part of Lot No. 58 in the new plan of said town, and bounded as follows, viz.

Beginning at the west corner of the brick corner house now owned by M. Wilson and thence with Water Street to the middle partition wall between the lot now conveyed and the house now owned by Joseph W. Caldwell, thence with the line northwardly of the last two lots with the original course of lots to the back line on the alley, thence with the alley to the corner on the alley eastwardly, thence with the alley to the back line of said M. Wilson's lot, thence with M. Wilson's line to the beginning, being the same lot conveyed by John M. Jones to F. Travis by deed dated 4 November 1824, and conveyed by said Travis and wife to said Buky by deed dated 22 December 1829, all recorded in Bullitt County office with its appurtenances.

And said Rodolphus Buky does hereby covenant and agree to and with said H. C. M. Cartmell to warrant and forever defend the title to said lot of ground and appurtenances by his deed in fee simple with general warranty unto him said Cartmell against the claims of himself and heirs, and against the claims of all other persons whatsoever. Witness the hands and seals of the grantors the date first herein written.
