George W. Jenkins to William Arnold - Shepherdsville Lot 88

After Third Street was reduced from 80 to 40 feet wide, and new half-sized lots were added to the north, the trustees began selling them. They sold lot No. 88 to George W. Jenkins who later sold the lot to William Arnold, as shown below.


Bullitt County Deed Book I, Page 122

This indenture made and entered into the fourth day of September in the year of Christ 1838 between George W. Jenkins and Mary Margaret his wife of Nelson County and state of Kentucky of the one part, and William Arnold of Bullitt County and state aforesaid of the other part.

Witnesseth that the said Jenkins for and in consideration of the sum of $50 current money to him in hand paid by the said Arnold has this day granted, bargained and sold and by these presents does sell and convey unto the said William Arnold a fractional lot in the town of Shepherdsville known and designated in the new plan of said town by its number 88.

To have and to hold the said lot number 88 together with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto him the said William Arnold and to his heirs and assigns forever. And said Jenkins further covenants, and agrees to and with the said Arnold that he will and his heirs shall warrant and forever defend the title to said lot and appurtenances to him, said Arnold, his heirs &c against the claim of him, said Jenkins, his heirs and assigns and against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whatsoever by this is deed in fee simple with general warranty. In testimony whereof the said George W, Jenkins and wife have hereto set their hands and seals the date aforesaid.
