Benjamin Summers received two deeds from the Shepherdsville Trustees for this lot. The first one on 27 Jun 1797; the second one on 4 Jun 1812. He sold it to John Griffin that same day. Following Griffin's death, his widow Elizabeth Griffin sold it to John W. Beckwith on 8 Nov 1820. The lot was later sold, after Beckwith's death, by a Circuit Court suit brought by Matthew Wilson against Beckwith's estate, as shown below.

Whereas at a Circuit Court held for the Bullitt Circuit at the courthouse in Shepherdsville on the sixth day of July 1831 in the case in chancery of Matthew Wilson against William Caldwell, administrator of John W. Beckwith dec'd and Alfred N. Bullitt and Minerva E. his wife, Basil W. Beckwith, Mary Ann Beckwith and Frederick G. A. Beckwith, heirs and representatives of the said John W. Beckwith dec'd and others.
It was ordered and decreed that the said Matthew Wilson should recover of the said administrators and heirs the sum of $741.43 in Commonwealth Bank notes and a day in court was given the defendants the administrators and heirs to pay the same and it was further decreed and ordered that if the money should not be paid on said day that George F. Pope who was subsequently appointed a commissioner for that purpose should sell the 19 acres of land above and adjoining the town of Shepherdsville, the half acre lot of land also near to said town, and the lot No. 79 in said town; and whereas also afterwards to-wit on the 15th day of August 1831, the said money not having been paid to the said Matthew Wilson, the said George F. Pope, commissioner as aforesaid, did at the courthouse door in Shepherdsville, the said day being County Court day, sell the said 19 acres of land, the half acre lot of land, and the lot No. 79 in Shepherdsville, and Matthew Wilson, the complainant, became the purchaser of the whole of the land and lots aforesaid at and for the sum of $140 in Commonwealth Bank notes, and the said commissioner made out and returned his report which was at a Circuit Court held for the Bullitt Circuit on the 3rd day of October 1831 confirmed, and at a Circuit Court held as aforesaid on the 6th day of October 1831 the said George F. Pope was appointed a commissioner to convey to the said Matthew Wilson the land and lots aforesaid all which will more fully appear by reference to the record and proceedings in said suit, and the Decretal Orders therein made.
This indenture therefore made this 7th day of October 1831 between the said George F. Pope, commissioner as aforesaid, for and on behalf of the said Alfred N. Bullitt and Minerva E. his wife, Basil W. Beckwith, Mary Ann Beckwith and Frederic G. A. Beckwith, heirs and representatives of John W. Beckwith dec'd of the one part, and the said Matthew Wilson of the other part.
Witnesseth that the said George F. Pope, commissioner as aforesaid, for and in consideration of the decree and proceedings thereon as aforesaid, hath granted, aliened, conveyed and confirmed and by these presents doth grant, bargain, alien, release, convey and confirm unto the said Matthew Wilson all the right, title and interest and claim of them the said Alfred N. Bullitt and Minerva E. Bullitt his wife, Basil W. Beckwith, Mary Ann Beckwith and Frederic G. A. Beckwith, heirs and representatives of John W. Beckwith dec'd of in and to the said 19 acres of land, the half acre lot of land, and the lot No. 79 described as aforesaid.
To have and to hold the said tract and lots of land with all the appurtenances unto him the said Matthew Wilson, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, and to his and their only proper use, benefit and behoof forever against the claim or claims of all and every person claiming or to claim the same.
In testimony whereof the said George F. Pope, commissioner as aforesaid, hereto set his hand and seal, and the names of the said Alfred N. Bullitt and Minerva E. his wife, Basil W. Beckwith, Mary Ann Beckwith and Frederic G. A. Beckwith on the day and year within written.
